I have a 1990 Scat II with Cuyuna ULII-02 engine. It is extremely hard to start. It will only start with at least 1/4 throttle and only after many pulls (sometimes 100+). It will not start at idle or stay started at idle. The carb set screw is currently 1 1/2 turns out, piston pin on 2nd notch, and jet from factory (purchased new from ZD Ent.).
I found a broken piston ring, so replaced both pistons. Compression is 52 on both cylinders. It has a new carburetor, spark plugs & wires, coil, ignition, & fuel pump. I put in new gas with 40:1 oil mix.
I had a small engine mechanic work on it and he gave up on it.
Any suggestions?
